Uncertainties abound
thereabouts of my life-- pain aside.
Nothing interested me,
save it had some deeper stake.
So I found everything commonplace
and nothing to look forward to,
save my own past revisiting.
Too tired and vexedI looked upward,
listened to Him… with an ear
pressed to the ground.
Surprisingly those crawling things
stopped entering me
as He answered.

You might agree with me that it is better to have a beer or two with your legs raised and carefully put on the kitchen table, or if the same is out of bounds, sit astride on a barstool. That will sound better than going for a 5-KM Run sponsored by some or other awareness organization and get a free bottle or T-shirt. Finally sit alone in a corner of your pantry, listen to what your conscience says and just do the opposite. But listen to the spouse or the loved ones and finish the tasks you are sitting on positively before the weekend.
